Tudor Primary School

Tudor Primary School

We ask the children to wear grey trousers/skirt/shorts, a white polo-shirt and a royal blue sweatshirt/sweatcardi. Children are also able to wear black trousers/ tights if they prefer. School sweatshirts are available from the school office. When the weather allows, girls may also wear a blue checked dress which you can purchase from high street stores/supermarkets. Please note that any tights must be plain white, black or grey.

Appropriate black coloured footwear for outdoor use, e.g. sturdy ‘school’ shoes (ones that stay securely on the feet), with low heels, allow the children to run around safely and comfortably at playtimes.  Whilst 'active' shoes/ trainers can be worn, they must not have any coloured logos/ laces/ soles. Small buckles on leather shoes/ boots (not taller than ankle height) are allowed.

Children will also need a PE kit and PE shoes suitable for outdoor activities. If the weather is cold and the children are doing PE outside, they are allowed to wear their sweatshirts over their PE kit, but otherwise they must change their clothes for PE for reasons of hygiene.

Apart from wristwatches and stud-earrings, children should not wear jewellery to school. For PE activities, earrings must be covered with surgical tape or, preferably, removed.

Nursery children are not required to wear uniform. However, we do find that they like to be part of 'Team Tudor' and enjoy wearing our school colours and logos - this also means, for you as parents, any 'wear and tear' is confined to these items and not to their 'home clothes'.

Do ask at the office if you wish to purchase any 'pre-loved' uniform - our PTA, the Friends of Tudor - regularly hold 'pre-loved' uniform sales.

Thank you in advance for your support in ensuring that your child is appropriately dressed for school.

Equality and Discrimination Considerations

As a school, we support equality, and in implementing this uniform policy we aim to meet the needs of children with protected characteristics.   Our aim is to ensure this is done in a way which is accessible and non-discriminatory, without compromising safety and discipline within the school.  Where possible, uniform requirements are gender-neutral.

Complaints and Disputes over Uniform

Our uniform specifications are as flexible as possible  in the hope that we minimise cost and complications for parents.  We are happy to discuss any concerns about the school's policy on school uniform, so problems can be resolved quickly.

Non-Compliance

Where there is a serious breach of the uniform code (such as clothing with offensive or inappropriate logos/graphics), the school will follow the behaviour policy in a proportionate way.  No pupil will be penalised for decisions beyond their control.
