Being kind and thoughtful means making ourselves aware of the needs and feelings of others and then taking action to help them. It means taking the time to stop thinking about ourselves, to put the spotlight on somebody else's needs and to think, "What can I do to make that person's life a little better or easier?"
This time of the year is a perfect opportunity to show how thoughtful we can all be - the skill is to ensure we do it every moment of every day.
To help the children (and parents) with a starting point each morning, it would be amazing if you could come up with your own thoughtfulness advent calendar - here is one that was shared by our current year 3s, two years ago.
I would also like to give a special mention to all of those children who received nominations by their teachers and peers for showing the value of 'Responsibility' during November. Their names have also been added to our values section of our website.
