Living in a rich and diverse community as we do, understanding others' beliefs and values is key to making our world a happier one - for both ourselves and others.
'Mutual Respect and Tolerance of Those With Different Faiths or Beliefs' is also one of our British Values, and as such, students are taught to show empathy and understanding of people from different backgrounds. Giving pupils regular opportunities to learn about different cultures and beliefs also reinforces the messages of tolerance and respect. This in turn allows us to understand and respect different values which may be different from our own.
It has been said that Ignorance can breed fear and fear can breed hate and therefore, having a better understanding of each other should lead to a happier place for us all.
I would also like to congratulate all of those children who were nominated for the value of TRUST in May. For a list of those trustworthy children, please take a look at the values section of our website HERE.
