Dear Parents/ Carers,
It has been a few weeks since our last newsletter and the children have been continuing to work hard. The super work has been showcased in some awesome class assemblies and there is strong evidence that our curriculum continues to inspire the children.
The number of children who visit my room to share their work is wonderful and hearing how proud children are of their work is certainly one of the best things about being headteacher. We have recently completed our spring term monitoring and evaluation- these activities enable the teachers and children to demonstrate the impact of the provision at Tudor. We are looking forward to working alongside other schools too- it really is an exciting time to be #TeamTudor and we are proud of our (growing) reputation.
EVERY child TRULY matters
You are likely to have already have seen the feedback on the website but we are delighted to share the comments made about Tudor by an experienced county advisor recently. The focus was how we support ALL our childen to be fully involved in their education and it was awesome to see the recognition of just how much Tudor goes above and beyond to help children feel fully immersed in their schooling. Our Ofsted report was super and the comments below are equally pleasing!
Please ensure that you all remain committed to making sure your children can benefit from a full education and being able to attend school EVERY day is a right for all children. These primary years are the true foundations for their future- it is the duty of parents to make sure they can thrive. 97% attendance is a BASIC target.
The Hangout- New after school provision!
Bookings are starting to be made for our new after school care provision at Tudor. There were a number of different options and we are excited about our new school-led offer.
We now offer wrap-around care from 7.45am until 6pm on site and we are determined to meet (and exceed!) the expectations of the school community. We will offer affordable care with high levels of adult capacity and by leading the provision ourselves we will ensure that all of our existing (and effective!) approaches will be maintained at all times, and for all those who take part. For more information on ‘The Hangout’ do look at our website- This is certainly another important step forward for Tudor Primary School.

Summer after school activity clubs- The spring term clubs for after school will continue up until the end of term. Our provision (and related application process) for the summer term will be released soon. Mr Higgins remains determined to offer a super selection of activities. Freewheel Fridays will be back soon. The children will CERTAINLY be excited about that!
Speaking of sport, our football team have reached the semi-final of the district cup after a 4-1 win away at Greenway of Berkhamsted in the quarter-final.
Let’s hope their success continues all the way to the final! They really do represent the school in the right way!
Football and FoTBall! On the afternoon of Saturday 29th April, Friends of Tudor are holding their first ever Parents v's Teacher football match! The teachers have already started getting their team together and we need you to come and join the parent team, have a fun (or slightly competitive) game of football and support Friends of Tudor!
If you are interested in joining our parents’ team or helping at the event, please email FOT@tudor.herts.sch.uk by Monday 17th April.
Gates will open at 1pm, for a 2pm kick off- Spectator entry: £10 per family (up to 5 people), £3 per person. We look forward to seeing you there!
Managing absence- If your child is absent, you MUST inform the school. In addition, on any subsequent/ further day of absence please update the school with the situation so we are aware of how things are progressing. The duty of care (whether they are in school or not!) is a key part of our work at Tudor and this can only be achieved with clear cooperation between home and school.
Tudorites in the community! Ellis and Callum of Year 6 have certainly been busy in the local area. They have been learning about the current cost of food and how this impacts daily life. To help make a difference, the boys went to Tesco to ask members of the public to donate food for the food bank at the Salvation Army.
They all did an incredible job, collecting 12 crates of donated food! They felt a great sense of pride in being able to give something back to their local community and it has inspired them to think how else they can get involved with helping others. Although with their scout group, as pupils of Tudor they really demonstrated Tudor values and we are very proud of them. Well done Ellis and Callum!
As parents have already been informed, school meals have had to be increased in price at Tudor and recent whole school budget setting activities have also evidenced how difficult it is to ‘make ends meet’. Nevertheless, we remain determined for Tudor Primary to provide the highest quality education and care for all in our community. We are stronger TOGETHER! Don’t forget we end the term at 2pm on Friday 31st March.
