When Tudor Primary became the setting for our young authors...
Tudor Book Day
On Friday 1st July, we had an amazing day celebrating the wonderful world of books and reading. Children and adults came in dressed as characters from their own Tudor based story, including a dinosaur attacking Tudor Towers, a Wimpy Kid detective here to investigate a crime and a terrifying Viking ready to pillage and plunder Tudor School.
The children also met Olusegun, an author and drama enthusiast, who worked with the children to act out a play and then take part in a creative writing competition.
Kye in Year 4 said, “I really liked it because I got to read and act out the lines. It was fun and it also helped me get ideas for writing.”
Leading up to the day, we also ran a competition to create a book cover with Tudor school as the setting. We received over 120 entries and were blown away by the quality of these! This made it very difficult to judge, but below are our winners, who each receive a £10 book voucher.
Indiana, Reception, Yellow Class – Secret Superhero Saves the School
Harper, 1O – Super Harper and the Villain Frank
Darcy, 2Q – Rapunzel and the Hair-do at Tudor

There was even a 'Where's Weightman' competition. Naughtily, the staff 'invaded' his room to create their own special photo...
