SRE Policy parent consultation- further UPDATE

SEPTEMBER UPDATE- due to school closure we will continue to pin this new piece of school documentation on the website. The school did receive parental input/ feedback on the policy during the main period of consultation but we are happy to receive any further comments/ suggestions.

We have also continued to work with the county wellbeing lead advisor. Following this support, we have further adapted our new policy so that there is enhanced clarity around the content that will be delivered. It was pleasing to note that feedback on our original draft was positive and we are obviously happy to refine our approaches further in light of expert advice. We will continue to share this documentation on our website and if you would like to discuss any of the content with our school leadership, we encourage you to contact the school.

Original News Item- May 2020

From September 2020, the Department for Education has made Relationships and Health Education compulsory for all primary aged children. Relationships, Health and Sex Education is about the emotional, social and cultural development of pupils, and involves learning about relationships, staying safe, respect, healthy lifestyles, diversity and personal identity.

We have written the first draft of Tudor School's 'Relationship and Sex Education' policy. This provisional policy includes the outcomes for the ‘Relationships Education’ curriculum for all children in Reception Class to Year 6.  It is important that this policy is written in consultation with parents and carers of pupils' at Tudor School. Therefore, please read the policy which can be found on the school website in the following area: Learning/PSHE, Relationships and Sex Education.

The draft policy is also attached below.

If you have any comments or questions about the policy and/or the curriculum content please contact Miss Reading or Mr Weightman via email at: inco@tudor.herts.sch.uk or admin@tudor.herts.sch.uk by Monday 15th June

We will then consider your comments and suggestions before finalising the policy.
