Formal written strategies for multiplying numbers
Today in maths, we played the honey bee race. The aim of the game was to cross the board to our beehives and to do so we had to multiply two numbers together using a formal written method. Then we checked our answers to see if they matched up to any of the criteria on the board e.g. 'between 5000 and 10,000' or 'a multiple of 10'. This allowed us to move our counters closer to the bee hive.
