As well as finding out about the origin of Rock 'n' Roll music, we have been researching some of the characteristics and elements of the genre. As musicians, we considered the exciting and dramatic tempo of Rock music, plus the strong presence of drums and guitar in most songs.

 The children found it particularly interesting to see how the genre had so many branching sub-genres over time; we enjoyed listening to some of the highlights through the decades!
