We started off our new extreme environments topic by exploring poetry. Inspired by the amazing Winter Olympics advert, the Dreadful Menace, the year five children created their own poems personifying a rugged, dangerous mountain.

They used a range of powerful techniques, including noun phrases, similes and metaphors, adverbs and verbs and personification. Take a look at the video that inspired us and our own poems below.
