Science is really rocking in Year 3. This week we spent time looking at testing some different properties of rocks.

We looked at how durable (hard) it was using sandpaper; how porous it was using water drops and then how dense it was using a big tub of water to see if the rock floated.

It was great fun and to stay safe we even had to wear our safety goggles!

     

 

We had to ensure we communicated as a team to record the correct results. Our teamwork skills shone through and we even began thinking about grouping these rocks based on their properties!
