Making, experimenting and writing! It's all been going on in Year 3 this week!
To start off our week, we were exploring different sentence openers in our explanation writing about an Anderson Shelter. We also used conjunctions to join our sentences together and looked at adding prepositions!
On Thursday, we used our 'Powerful Pens' to write up our factual work. Take a sneak peak!
We had to think like a scientist this week! Firstly, we identified the positive and negatives about sunlight, and then we were put to the test!!! We had to design our very own goggles for a pilot in WW2 who needed to protect his eyes whilst flying. Prediction was our first step, identifying which material would be the best, and then we designed the goggles. Here is an example:
Finally, we used our carefully created designs to start making our WW2 rescue vehicles in D&T. We had to think about our joining techniques, as well as making our wheel and axle to allow the car to turn!!! We haven't quite got to making our pulleys yet... stay tuned!!!
