Last week, we discovered lots of different types of plants and used spotter sheets to help us to name them.  This week we looked at pictures of flowers and noticed that they all had 5 petals.  We then investigated the statement that all flowers have an odd number of petals.  To find out whether or not this was true, we looked at lots of different flowering plants and counted the number of petals on their flowers.  This was particularly tricky with daisies and dandelions as they have so many petals!
