The Tudor Governing Board
'Governors are committed to the school’s success. They carry out their role effectively, overseeing the headteachers’ plans for continuous improvement. They are very supportive of the leadership team and have confidence in its capacity to realise its vision.' (Ofsted, December 2022)
The Chair of the Tudor Primary Governing Board is Susannah Arje. She has held this position since September 2022.
Some further information on some current members of the Tudor Governing Board:
Amy Wright
I became a parent governor at Tudor in 2020, and currently hold link roles for SEN, Wellbeing and Early Years - all areas I believe to be hugely important to children's development and future success. I have lived near the school for 12 years and work in TV technical production. My oldest son attends Tudor and my youngest hopes to start in September. We are proud to be part of such an inclusive and caring school community.
Chris Mansfield
I am a Co-opted Community Governor and joined the Board in 2017 and currently have responsibility for Health and Safety and sit on the Finance (as Chair), Personnel and Performance Monitoring, and Premises committees.
I am the owner of a SME based in Portsmouth
Dan Jones
I’ve been a Governor at Tudor for 10 years and proud to have been part of the journey we’ve been on. The transformation of the school is fantastic to see! I’ve got two children in Key Stage 2 and one that is now in secondary school. Professionally, I am a police Inspector working operationally within the county.
Jenny Heath
I have a child in year 3 and a child who is now at secondary school. I have 16 years' experience of working with children.
Lucy Paul
I joined the Tudor Governor board in July 2021. As a co-opted governor, I have experience working in primary and secondary schools specialising in SEN and Safeguarding.
Pauline Chalmers
I have been on the Tudor governing board since 2016. Initially as a Parent Governor, and now as a Co-opted Governor.
Outside of governance, I work in the education sector, within special education needs.
Susannah Arje
I have been on the Tudor governing board since 2018, and Chair since 2022.My two children have both been through Tudor from reception, with one now at secondary school. Outside of governing I work for an advice charity doing data and research. I am very proud to be involved in such an inclusive and inspirational school.
Stephanie Boyle
I have lived in Hemel Hempstead for over 10 years. My eldest son joined Tudor in September 2023 and shortly after I joined the Tudor governing board. We hope our youngest son will join Tudor in 2 years’ time. I strongly believe in schools being the heart of the community and as a family we love being part of this incredible school. I hope to bring my skill and experiences to the board of governors, supporting the school to continue developing and succeeding for many years.
The school benefits from a committed governing board. County feedback states:
Governor involvement is robust...a good working knowledge of the school. Governor engagement levels are high and the safeguarding governor meets regularly with staff to monitor procedures and best practice. Governors articulated the same passion and values observed across the school.
Our governors have also achieved awesome recognition for their work. The picture below relates to an 'Outstanding Governance Award' that was awarded to Mrs Jenny Howard:
The current Tudor Governing Board is made up of the following members:
