Supporting our families at this time of need
Good Morning,
As I write this news update very early in the morning, you have no doubt heard that schools have been instructed to close to the majority of pupils at the end of the day tomorrow.
The teaching team have already been organising substantial learning packs for children. These will be sent home over the next couple of days. Children already unable to attend (those currently self isolating) will also receive their resource packs. Whatever this takes, we will ensure you receive them - if collection from school is at all possible (via a child currently in a school or a friend/ relation from the front office) that would help.
As already highlighted, we pledge to ensure a strong contact/ bond with ALL our pupils during this period, however long it may last. Feel confident to enable your child to email their teacher/ write to us and use our website. We want to remain central to their lives.
Other next steps?
In regard to those children/ families who still require our services we are determined to work with you and 'do our bit' in helping things in the forthcoming period.
Guidance for those children to attend school includes:
-support for the children of key workers, such as NHS staff, police and delivery drivers.
-help those most in need - for example, children who receive (benefit related) free school meals.
IF you believe that you fall into this category, please email the school office on admin@tudor.herts.sch.uk and title your email 'PROVISION AT TUDOR REQUEST'.
You can also come to the school office and complete a request in person before the end of the week.
Once we are aware of numbers, school leaders will be able to plan/ formulate our response. We pledge to give this our full efforts.
Our school has also been selected as a hub school for the provision of meals during the school closure. If you are eligible for (benefit related) free school meals, there will be a daily lunch waiting here to be collected - if your family as a whole needs support PLEASE ASK- we will access additional funding.
Tudor Primary will also seek ways that it can further support the local community. IF YOU ARE ABLE TO OFFER DONATIONS OF KEY ITEMS (non perishable goods, etc) DO DROP THESE AT SCHOOL. We have already received offers of support from our amazing parent body in dropping off such items at the homes of others. Let's all work together #TeamTudor
Thanking you in advance for you support.
Keep an eye on this website for further updates.
