A busy (but exciting!) time for #TeamTudor...

Dear Parents/ Carers,
I know that I often start by saying that school is a busy place to be but it truly is! As I look back at what ‘school-experiences’ the children have been able to enjoy since the last newsleter, it really is rather impressive. We have had: athlete visits, Electric Umbrella assemblies, Windsor Castle workshops, music visits, sports festivals, skiing lessons, reading events, work experience partnerships with secondary schools and more.
This is all IN ADDITION to what our children enjoy as part of a high quality school experience. What truly makes Tudor so special is the resulting positive atmosphere that is clearly evident around the school each day.
The children really do show how much they enjoy being here and the engagement they have with the teaching team is so special!
Sharing our SUCCESS…
Tudor Primary has been identified as a school to help develop (and model) high quality practice in other settings. This is a super opportunity for us and I have been so impressed with how the teachers have responded. Whilst our own school must always remain our priority, the teachers have making a positive impact and we should all feel very proud of them. Our reputation as an innovative, creative and high performing school is super: to see teachers return to school after leading training and/ or modelling their awesome practice in other schools is truly rewarding. They really do have an extra spring in their step… and so they should- they are EXCELLENT!
Our partnership work for the county has come along at the right time. After Ofsted, we are benefitting from this new challenge and, as headteacher, I have a duty to keep our super teaching team energised and inspired. Many of the teachers at Tudor started their career here and I am very confident that we given them the right values- that EVERY day matters and children deserve the best. I am also aware that there are a number of school leaders amongst them and they will be leading their own schools one day. I look forward to sharing the Tudor teaching team structure for 2023/2024 in our next newsletter and I truly believe we will be stronger than ever. We will have a new addition, Miss Hill, who was superb in interview following her outstanding teaching placement a few months ago. The future is bright! But this year is still not over…
Next week is ART WEEK!
We have no plans to slow down those extra experiences for the Tudor community and we look forward to ‘Art week’ next week. Miss Houston is our awesome art subject leader & she has planned an array of activities. We even have Tudor Art Night for adults next Wednesday evening. Come along!
Don’t forget that children have been invited to dress as an artist for a £1 donation on Monday 19th June! Our whole school art exhibition on Friday 23rd June at 2pm is sure to share some super artistic outcomes. Please try and join us!
Inclusion at Tudor Primary- a message from Miss Reading- our Leader for Inclusion:
At our next 'Tudor Coffee Morning' on Tuesday 20th June at 9am, Michelle Black, Family Support Worker from Dacorum Family Services, will be joining us. The focus of this coffee morning will be 'Supporting your child with transition', it would be great to see as many of you as possible. If your child has an 'Individual Support Plan' your child's class teacher will be contacting you to arrange a convenient time to meet to review current plans and jointly create new targets. If the date and/or time is not convenient, please do contact your child's class teacher to arrange an alternative appointment. It is vital school staff, parents/carers and the child work collaboratively to discuss the support and provision required to enable the young person to be happy in school and fulfil their potential.
FOT- can you help? It is worrying to share that the Summer Fete may be the last event for the Friends of Tudor: the FOT Chair and Secretary are standing down and we have no volunteer replacements. This will mean no more bingo nights, quiz nights, fireworks, summer fetes and so on unless we have some more volunteers for this parent group. Please email fot@tudor.herts.sch.uk if you can help. Our school NEEDS YOU!
Final Reports- Tuesday 11th July / Thursday 13th July
The final consultation evenings of the year are a vital part of our partnership between home and school. Each family will receive their child's final written report including progress information and key targets for next year. EVERY child deserves to be represented at these meetings. If you are unable to attend the dates we have available please write in your child's red home school diary to alert the teacher. Your engagement is of huge importance and we look forward to seeing you all. To support families, a creche will be available in the hall for children– cost of £1 per child payable in cash on the door. Let’s work TOGETHER.

A PLEA from the office team- The office team at Tudor would like to remind all parents of the importance of informing the school if your child is absent. It should not be the job of Tudor staff to find out why a child is not in school. Getting to school on time so children can enter their classroom in the correct way is also an expectation that we expect all parents to meet. School staff are having to transport children around the school so that they reach their classroom. Well done to the VAST majority of parents who enable their children to start EVERY DAY in the RIGHT WAY! School starts at 8.45am and this is when we expect children to enter their class.
Term time and SUMMER CAMP CHAMPS!
Feedback for our after-school provision CONTINUES to be extremely positive. You can book a space up to 1.30pm each day and we ensure HIGH levels of adult capacity. Tax Free Childcare and Childcare Vouchers (from employers) are all accepted. The office team can help with understanding how to access this additional financial support. Miss Grundy and Miss Foy are bringing their experience to summer holiday activity fun for the children. ‘Hangout Camp Champs’ is sure to be a success- check out what is in store:

Do check your ARBOR app to ensure that your child is being enabled to enjoy a full experience of school. 97% is our school target. Anything under 90% means that your child is a ‘persistent absentee’- this WILL affect your child’s social and academic development. All in #TeamTudor are determined to give your children their best.
