Year 5 report on Hemel's recent history!
As well as finding out about how Hemel Hempstead developed into the place we know now in the decades after World War 2, we have been rolling the clock back a few years to 2005.
It was a sleepy Sunday in Hemel, most of the town was (luckily) still tucked up in bed when the Buncefield Oil Depot exploded! We have spent time looking at news footage and asking staff members what happened to them on that day (as well as getting a bit creative with our ideas). Once we knew the details, we channelled our best Lois Lane skills and wrote a news paper report.
