Putting what we have learnt about food hygiene into practice and developing our food preparation skills
This term, our D&T unit is on food technology and we have been learning about the importance of food and personal hygiene when cooking.
Today, we learnt how to use a knife safely to cut onions, tomatoes and coriander to make Pico de Gallo, a fresh salsa often used in Mexican dishes.
We even got to taste test it at the end and discussed which different flavours we could taste the most and what we could add to it next time!
Here is the recipe we used:
- 4 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 red onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- small bunch coriander, roughly chopped
- juice 1 lime
