Year 2 keep trucking along focusing on cars!

Another HIGHLY successful week of home learning this week. You should all be very proud of the effort you are putting in. It has been GREAT to see so much of what we have been during in class being used at home....WE LOVE IT.

This week our focus has been on cars, from finding out about the different types of cars, reading about a Hertfordshire F1 driver, thinking about how cars have changed and what parts make a car.

Our DT challenge was to label and make a car:

Dominik found lots of different examples of cars at home.

Jasmine made her own nippy little yellow number

DID YOU KNOW...that Lewis Hamilton (the most successful British F1 driver EVER) is from Stevenage?  We used our comprehension skills to read a biography about the man himself and created our own comic strips/time lines of important life events.

Klaudia used her image searching skills to help her.

As did Ayanna.

Apart from Cars and Herbie, we can safely say most cars are not living, but are there ways to definitely know what is living or non-living?  Leave it to Year 2 to help you out!  After researching the characteristics of living things, they were challenged to explain how a plant or animal is living.

Here is Ezra's poster about his hamster:

Also... watch out BBC News- Anna is here with her plant report!
